About me

I am an electronics and transport engineer. I’m currently studying part-time for my MSc in Transport at Imperial College, London, and University College, London and am working full-time in the research and development of hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs). I graduated in June 2007 with my degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering (BEng(Hons)) at the University of Kent in Canterbury where I specialised in Embedded Computer Systems and Digital Systems Design, in addition to the standard Electronics and Communications modules offered by the Department. My final year project was the design, construction, and implementation of a battery monitoring device capable of relaying an accurate state-of-charge of a 12V Lead-Acid Battery to the end-user.

Outside of University, I have passions for (amongst other things) astronomy, history, electronics and computing, motor sports, music, and photography.

I am familiar with the Arizona Microchip PIC family of microprocessors, and have a degree of understanding with functions of the Motorola 68-series. I am able in C and C++, and understand Java reasonably well. I also have a familiarity with HTML, XHTML, PHP, and CSS, as I play around with these languages as a hobby.

I have another website which I maintain concurrently to this one, which may be found at http://www.cmdr-fire.co.uk/blog/.
